Interest in our Cotswold wedding venue and the growing popularity of barns for weddings means our availability changes on a daily basis. If you have a particular date in mind, please give us a call on 01608 698798 and we can check the diary.
We can accommodate up to 150 people for your ceremony and sit-down dinner, and up to 200 for your evening party.
Civil ceremonies at Blackwell Grange take place in our 16th century barn, and we can accommodate up to 150 seated guests. You will need to contact the registrar direct to arrange your wedding ceremony. Please telephone Warwickshire Direct Registrations on 01926 413724 or email warwickro@warwickshire.gov.uk.
We are fortunate to have eight beautiful churches within easy reach of Blackwell Grange, in the Parish of Tredington.
You and your guests are invited to spend the night in our 1604 accommodation. For additional accommodation for your guests there is plenty of accommodation surrounding us.
If you would like to get ready at Blackwell Grange, we have the Potting Shed, a beautiful and very special place for you and your attendants to prepare and relax before your ‘I do’ moment. The morning after your wedding, you can enjoy breakfast in The Flour Mill in 1604.
Shortly after booking your chosen date, we will invite you back to Blackwell Grange for an initial planning meeting with our expert on-site catering and events team. From then on, our Events Managers will be on hand every step of the way.
You can look forward to coming to Blackwell Grange as our guest at one of our tasting events. Experience the atmosphere in our barns, as well as our chefs' exceptional service. Your final planning meeting will be 12 weeks before your wedding day when you will go over your final plans and thoughts with our Events Managers.
We are delighted that our owner Didi has decided to be our onsite stylist and florist. We are also very happy to put you in touch with other local wedding suppliers to help with your ideas and to turn your wedding from inspiration into reality. The Cotswolds is a notoriously creative area, so we know you will be in safe hands!
As all of the surrounding countryside is farmland and a majority of our properties are thatched, unfortunately, we cannot allow fireworks, sparklers or Chinese lanterns as they can harm livestock.
Blackwell Grange is accessible for wheelchair users. 1604 also has good access, but if a guest requires additional assistance, please enquire separately and also let your Event Manager know. We do not have a lift.

Below you'll find answers to the questions we find often crop up in the wedding planning process.
Is there a dressing room to get ready before the ceremony?
There is the beautiful Potting Shed dressing room that is available to use on the morning of your wedding.
What time can we access the Potting Shed?
Access to the Potting Shed is from 10 am on the day of your wedding.
Can we get married outside?
Yes, under the loggia or arbour.
What entrance do my guests use to access the Thatch barn?
Access to the Thatch Barn is via ‘lollypop lane’ where your guests will head through the gateway in the wall, onto Apple Tree lawn and then enter through the double doors.
Can we play music outside?
Yes, only unamplified music can be played outside from 12 pm to 7 pm.
Can we have a band or DJ?
We have a selection of amazing musicians and DJs on our recommended supplier list that you can choose from and our custom-fitted sound system will accentuate the sound and allow it to travel through every part of the reception space.
What about music during the ceremony and/or wedding breakfast?
You are more than welcome to provide a musician of your choice for the ceremony and wedding breakfast or even create a playlist that can be played through our in-house speaker system.
What payment options do you accept at the bar?
We accept credit and debit card payments at our bar. Unfortunately, we cannot accept cash.
Are tables and chairs included?
Yes, we supply round guest tables along with the option of a round, rectangle or oval top table. Chairs are also provided.
What are the sizes of your tables?
Our round, guest tables come in the sizes below:
5ft comfortably seating 10
6ft comfortably seating 12
Do you provide a cake stand and knife?
Yes, we can provide you with a round or a square cake stand and knife.
Do you have a PA system and microphone?
We do have a microphone which is connected to our custom-fitted sound system.
Do you have any highchairs we can use?
We have two highchairs that you are more than welcome to use.
Do you have any disabled facilities?
The venue is wheelchair friendly with a disabled toilet in both the Orchard Barn and the Thatch Barn. The only area of the venue that is inaccessible by wheelchair is the Snug.
Where can guests leave coats and presents?
Coats can be left on the rail provided and presents can be left on the designated present table.
How many car parking spaces does the venue have?
The car park spaces are unmarked, however there is room for 40-50 cars to park comfortably.
Can I bring my dog to the wedding?
Yes, but permission is needed from the venue owners. We also only allow dogs to be on site for the ceremony and drinks reception and they would need to be taken away before the start of your wedding breakfast. Please be aware that insurance documents will be needed.
Are fireworks and sparklers permitted?
Due to Blackwell Grange being a working farm with livestock on-site, it isn’t possible to have fireworks, sparklers or chinese lanterns.
Are smoke machines permitted?
Smoke machines activate our fire alarms and therefore aren’t permitted. Uplighters and other forms of clever lighting can be use to make the Orchard Barn look spectacular.
Are we allowed confetti cannons?
We can’t allow confetti cannons due to health and safety as these cause the floors to become very slippery. You are more than welcome to have confetti for a beautiful shot on the Apple Tree lawn outside the Thatch Barn. Please ensure that only real petal confetti is used.
Are we allowed a bouncy castle?
It is not possible to have a bouncy castle or any other large inflatable item.
Do you have lawn games?
We don’t provide lawn games, but you can either hire some in or even provide them yourselves. We cannot permit any items that will cause damage to the grounds and lawns including footballs or any ball of this type.
Can we use bubbles?
Yes, you are more than welcome to use bubbles.
Can we have bunting in the Orchard Barn?
You can, however, please be aware that the beams in the Orchard Barn are extremely high and therefore you will need to arrange a professional supplier to do this for you. Alternatively, there are some hooks on the loggia that can be used for this and would be easily reachable.
Are candles permitted within the Thatch and Orchard Barns?
Candles are permitted in both the Thatch and Orchard Barn however we do ask that they are in appropriate holders. This is a holder that’s height is higher than the f lame when burning.
Where can I take my wedding photos?
You are more than welcome to use any part of the venue for your photos, apart from the areas marked as private. Apple Tree lawn will be closed off following the drinks reception so please ensure you get any shots you would like in this area during this time. There are some stunning spots, so please ask a member of the Events Team if you would like some more guidance on this.
Can a helicopter land at the venue?
Helicopters are permitted at Blackwell Grange. Please contact the Events Team to discuss the details.
Do you allow the use of drones?
It is not possible to use drones on site due to the livestock surrounding the venue.
Do you have any audio-visual facilities in the Orchard Barn that we could use for the speeches?
We don’t however you are more than welcome to bring your own projector and use one of the walls as a display screen.

Blackwell Grange closes at 11:30 pm.
Do I need to collect my belongings at the end of the night?
We will collect all your belongings together at the end of the night for you and leave them all in one place to collect in the morning. Please ensure that all items are collected by 10 am the following day.
Can cars be left overnight?
You are more than welcome to leave cars overnight however they must be collected by 10 am the next day.
